If you are an advertiser, you may wonder if mail marketing is effective today. After all, there are so many media from which to choose - including television and the internet. What about the good old fashioned mail marketing approach?
Mail marketing is still the best way to reach the most people with your advertising product than any other direct marketing media. The reason for this is that when a customer gets an advertisement through mail marketing, they are getting a tangible product. This is something that they can see and feel. They may read it over and save it or decide to take action. Either way, it is more than a fleeting glimpse.
With other marketing media - such as the internet and television, a customer may not get the message. No matter how good your product or deal, you need to be able to introduce it to potential buyers. And you cannot do this if they do not see the product. Over 80 percent of unsolicited e-mails get deleted. People do not even read the auto responder e-mails that are sent out by many companies. Although you can reach ions of people with these ads, in most cases, the marketing target does not even see the note.
Even if they were to open the e-mail, the attention span of someone on the internet is much less than offline. You have more of a chance of getting your product across to a potential buyer if you use mail marketing.
You may think that television marketing is effective and it is. It is a very effective form of marketing. Unfortunately, it is also a very expensive form of advertising. Those infomercials that are created cost hundreds of thousands of dollars with regard to air time. The response may be good for some of them and may have actually brought products to the public that otherwise would have had a difficult time getting marketed, but they are still very expensive. They are also not the right choice for a local business.
You can reach a lot of people with mail marketing. You can ask for a response or simply advertise your business. Many businesses, when advertising through mail marketing, use coupons to send to potential customers. Coupons are a good way to get some interest in your business. They give the customer a discount and also have a deadline. They are only good for a certain period of time so the customer has to act quickly.
If you have an unusual product or service, mail marketing is an excellent way to get the word out. With mail marketing ,you can direct where you want the marketing to be directed. You can choose certain neighborhoods or areas where you want to cover. The choices are endless.
Any business that is thinking about advertising their product or services to the masses should consider mail marketing. It is cost effective, can give you the ability to target you market and also is something that people tend to take a look at and consider.- Home
