College football scores for this year have come to an end along with the season.  College football will not spring back into action until the fall along with the National Football League at the professional level. However, we can recap last season’s scores and see what may be ahead for the coming season in college football. There were some great games last season and hopefully this coming season will hold the same surprises and entertainment as the 2007-08 season did.

 

Here is a summary of all the bowl games played last season. This is the college football version “playoffs”, with bowl game teams determined by different national polls.

 

On the Thursday of December twentieth last year the Poinsettia Bowl was held. The two teams playing in this game were Utah and Navy. The result of this game was Utah winning thirty-five to thirty-two. In the New Orleans Bowl, which was held on December twenty first of 2007, was between Florida Atlantic and Memphis. The winner of this game was Florida Atlantic with a score of forty-four to twenty-seven. On December twenty-second the Papa John’s Bowl was held between Southern Mississippi and Cincinnati. Cincinnati was the victor in this match up with a score of thirty-one to twenty-one. Also on this date was the New Mexico Bowl which was held between Nevada and New Mexico. This game resulted in a landslide victory for New Mexico with a score of twenty-three to zero. Also UCLA played Brigham Young on this date. The winner of this game was close with the victor being Brigham Young scoring seventeen versus UCLA’s sixteen. On December twenty third the Hawaii Bowl was held between East Carolina and Boise State. The man on top of this classic game was East Carolina with a finishing score of forty one to thirty eight. On December twenty sixth the Motor City Bowl was held between Central Michigan and Purdue. The winner of this game was Purdue with a total score of fifty-one to forty-eight. The Holiday Bowl was held the following day, with Texas versus Arizona State. The victor of this battle was Texas with a final score of fifty two to thirty four.

 

On December twenty eighth the Champs Sports Bowl was held with Michigan State taking on Boston College. This game had a final score of twenty-four to twenty-one with Boston College coming out on top. The Emerald Bowl was also held on this date between Maryland and Oregon State. Oregon State came out of this challenge the victor with an ending score of twenty-one to fourteen. Also the Texas Bowl was held on this date between Texas Christian and Houston. Texas Christian won this game with a score of twenty to thirteen. The next day was the Meinike Car Care Bowl which was Connecticut versus Wake Forest. Wake Forest came out on top in this game with a score of twenty four to ten. Next was the Alamo Bowl which was Penn State versus Texas A&M. Penn State was the victors of this game with a score of twenty-four to seventeen.

And finally there was the Liberty Bowl which was Central Florida versus Mississippi State with Mississippi State as the victors. The score of this game was a mere ten to three.
