Saltwater fishing is the exciting fishing where the fish are large, reeling them in is work and the fish stories are big.

Saltwater fishing is not for lightweights, this is fishing that are more than five or ten pounds and it is fishing that can use every ounce of strength the angler has. This is fishing for large fish like Marlin, Tuna and other big fish, ones that can weight hundreds of pounds.

When fishing in the ocean it is not a type of fishing for light weights, it is one kind of fishing that is going to test the skill of the angler every time there is a fish on the line, every time they begin to reel the fish in and the battle starts. This is the thrill of fishing for these large fish out in the open waters of the ocean.

This is also the kind of fishing that can be done in teams and entering tournaments to prove the amount of skill and experience the team has to reel in the largest fish of the tournament and win the prize. It also does not hurt that this is a fish that is to large for mounting on the wall, that is the kind seen in pictures next to the angler that was able to reel in this monster.

Any other type of fishing does not compare with saltwater fishing, fresh water fishing means bringing home a catch where a large fish is ten or twenty pounds at most. Ice fishing means fish that are between five and ten pounds for large fish and then there is ocean fishing where even from a pier it is possible to bring in a fish that weights fifty or one hundred pounds. Then there is deep ocean fishing where the fish can actually weight a more and that is adrenalin pumping action when a fish of this size is on the line and it is not fishing for lightweights. This is going to use all the skill and strength the angler has and more, because this giant fish is not going to come in easily. These are fish that will fight every inch of the way, as the line is reeled in they will fight to break it, they will thrash in the water and they will not tire easily. This is the action that ocean fisherman wait for, count on and feels satisfied when they bring one in the boat.

This is why saltwater fishing is also a team sport, when there are fish of this size there are times when it can take the team to get it in the boat. It will take the teams moral support to keep the angler fighting long after they have used all the energy they have, it might just be the team support that keeps them from giving up when every muscle in their body is aching. This is also when the saltwater angler is the most excited; this is a chance to show how much they know about bringing the big one in.
